April 24, 2025 – KQ GEO TECHNOLOGIES successfully hosted a specialized training session on the KQGIS platform at Malaysia’s National Geospatial Centre (PGN). The event was made possible through the strong support and close collaboration with our local Malaysian partner, Skyshine Corporation (M) Sdn. Bhd.

Key participants included PGN Manager En. Nor’hisham bin Othman, Deputy Manager Nur Fazreena binti Razali, and Skyshine Corporation Project Manager Sr. Gs. Ahmad Tarmizi. Representing KQ GEO TECHNOLOGIES were Faris Shahlan, GIS Technology Lead of our Malaysian subsidiary, and Lau Wee Lik, Regional Manager for Southeast Asia. During the training, Faris demonstrated the operational capabilities of KQGIS platform, highlighting its robust data processing features for practical cross-industry applications.

The PGN team showed particular interest in the platform’s automated data processing capabilities, enterprise-grade GIS deployment solutions, and high-performance cloud architecture. Both parties have agreed to explore deeper collaboration opportunities to support Malaysia’s national geospatial development initiatives.

On February 28, 2025, the inaugural phase of the Change Management Plan by JUPEM (Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia) was successfully held at the Alamanda Hall of Dorsett Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The conference aimed to advance the nationwide adoption of the NaSUM Project, ensuring a more systematic and efficient management system for Malaysia’s underground utilities.

Attendees included key stakeholders such as Dato’ LSr Hazri, Director General of Survey and Mapping Malaysia; state directors of surveying and mapping; LSr Powzy, Head of Utility Mapping Division; senior officials from various JUPEM departments; Tarmizi, General Manager of Asia Geomatik Instrument Sdn Bhd, and Hamdan, Project Director; as well as An Ke, International Business Director of KQ GEO, and Faris, GIS Lead. The high-level participation underscored Malaysia’s strong commitment to the NaSUM initiative.

This milestone event not only strengthened cross-sector collaboration but also reinforced JUPEM’s pivotal role in advancing geospatial and underground utility management. With the steady progress of NaSUM and continuous upgrades to Malaysia’s national utility mapping system, JUPEM is poised to enhance its support for critical national programs like PADU, contributing significantly to the country’s development vision.

The success of this conference marks a decisive step forward in modernizing Malaysia’s national surveying framework while laying a solid foundation for NaSUM’s implementation. Furthermore, it has set a clear roadmap for future reforms, ensuring efficient, data-driven planning that will benefit nationwide underground infrastructure management and deliver tangible value to the Malaysian people.

On December 22, 2024, KQ GEO TECHNOLOGIES participated in the 2024 Academic Seminar on Digital Governance and Information Research of Natural Resources, held in Beijing.

Jointly organized by the School of Information Engineering of China University of Geosciences (Beijing), the Land and Space Big Data Engineering Technology Innovation Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources, and the editorial departments of Natural Resources Informatization and Natural Resources Intelligence, the seminar focused on the theme “Information Technology Innovation Empowers the Digital Governance of Natural Resources and Territorial Space.” The event brought together more than 100 participants, including leaders from the Ministry of Natural Resources, academic scholars, and industry experts.

During the opening, Sun Xuedong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Information Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources, emphasized the importance of strategic development and top-level design in advancing natural resource informatization. He underlined the need for enhanced data mining, intelligent analysis, and the construction of a robust knowledge base to support scientific decision-making and policy development.

KQ GEO TECHNOLOGIES was represented by Chairman Xu Wenzhong and Li Ciwu, General Manager of the Software Division, who actively engaged in discussions and delivered a keynote presentation. Their speech shared forward-looking insights on the application of advanced technologies in the digital governance of natural resources. They highlighted the company’s ongoing efforts in building intelligent platforms, improving data governance systems, enabling open resource sharing, and promoting cross-sector collaboration. Their presentation also included practical cases demonstrating the integration of AI large models, GP models, and natural language processing technologies with real-world applications in the natural resources domain.

The seminar provided a valuable platform for interdisciplinary exchange and cooperation, fostering new ideas and technical dialogue. KQ GEO TECHNOLOGIES reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the digital transformation of natural resource management and contributing to the development of smart, sustainable, and future-ready solutions.

On December 18, 2024, the user system training for the fourth phase of the SISMAPS portal project in Malaysia was successfully completed in Kuala Lumpur.

A total of 13 participants took part in this training, including 11 key users from PLANMalaysia Selangor, along with Faris Shanlan and Sarah Syafiqah from KQ GEO TECHNOLOGIES’ Malaysia branch office. The training covered various aspects of the SISMAPS system, from basic to advanced operations, detailed explanations of new features introduced in Phase 4, hands-on system operation exercises, and Q&A sessions. By combining system demonstrations with practical exercises, the training ensured that every participant could proficiently navigate and utilize the system, laying a solid foundation for its broader application.

Built upon the KQGIS Platform, the SISMAPS system has become a pivotal information technology platform for PLANMalaysia Selangor. The successful implementation of the fourth phase not only strengthens and enhances previous achievements but also marks a significant step forward in the digitization and informatization of PLANMalaysia Selangor. This training signifies that the SISMAPS platform will now serve a wider range of users with enhanced functionality and a more user-friendly interface, supporting the advancement of urban planning and development in Selangor.

Moving forward, we will continue to collaborate with PLANMalaysia Selangor and other stakeholders to explore and implement innovative solutions while continuously optimizing the SISMAPS portal system. Our goal is to further contribute to the digital transformation of Selangor and Malaysia as a whole.

KQ Geo Technologies proudly marked its first participation in Hari GIS 2024 NRES, held on 29 October 2024 at Dewan Seri Melati, Putrajaya.

The event, hosted by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (NRES), brought together key stakeholders, experts, and organizations from across the geospatial industry to showcase innovations and share insights into the future of GIS in Malaysia. Our joint exhibition booth with technology partner SkyShine Corporation highlighted the latest in GIS solutions, smart mapping technologies, and GeoAI analytics—demonstrating our commitment to advancing digital geospatial capabilities in the country.

Throughout the day, our booth received overwhelming interest and engagement from various government agencies who were keen to explore our technologies and discuss potential collaborations. Notably, we were honored by visits from several distinguished guests including YBrs. Puan Norsham binti Abdul Latip, Deputy Secretary General (Natural Resources), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; Dr. Hj Mohamad Bin Abd Manap from the Department of Minerals and Geoscience Malaysia (JMG); and Dato’ LSr Hazri Bin Hassan, Director General of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (JUPEM). Their presence and interest in our solutions further reaffirmed the growing importance of innovative geospatial technologies in shaping national development and resource management.

Our first participation at Hari GIS was a significant milestone, and we look forward to contributing further to Malaysia’s geospatial ecosystem in future events.

At the 2024 Geographic Information Industry Conference, leaders from the Ministry of Natural Resources, academicians, and industry experts visited KQ GEO TECHNOLOGIES’s exhibition booth to offer guidance and engage in professional exchanges.

On the morning of August 28, the conference was officially opened in Kunming. The event featured the attendance of key figures including Wang Hao, Vice Governor of the Yunnan Provincial People’s Government, who delivered the welcome address; Liu Guohong, Vice Minister and Party Group Member of the Ministry of Natural Resources, who delivered a keynote speech; and Xu Guanhua, former Minister of Science and Technology and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, who participated virtually and shared his insights. Li Weisen, President of the China Geographic Information Industry Association, also delivered the opening speech. Several academicians and experts presented important conference documents and participated in commendation ceremonies. The event was attended by a large number of industry representatives, with Wang Zengning, Vice President and Secretary General of the China Geographic Information Industry Association, presiding over the opening ceremony.

The conference highlighted several major achievements, including the release of the “China Geographic Information Industry Development Report (2024)”, the announcement of the 2024 Geographic Information Science and Technology Progress Awards, and recognition of outstanding projects and organizations, such as the Geographic Information Industry Scientific and Technological Innovation Contribution Units. Additionally, the 2024 list of Top 100 Enterprises, Most Dynamic SMEs, and Most Promising Growth Enterprises was unveiled. We are proud to announce that KQ GEO TECHNOLOGIES Co., Ltd. was successfully named one of the “Top 100 Enterprises in China’s Geographic Information Industry in 2024.”
